    Keep safe.

This isn’t just confined to the southwest, it’s happening here in New England, too.

Right now, I’m holed up in the university library where I worked. I’ve got a couple of of students here with me. We’ve barricaded the doors and some of the windows with big tables from the study rooms. I also managed to snag a shotgun from one of the campus polilce cars while I was out looking for food the other night. I’ve only got a handful of shells though. Not enough for all of us, I’m afraid. I’ll let the others figure out who doesn’t get one, I won’t take one.

At least we’ve got plenty to read, and we’ve got plenty of power. the university has it’s own power plant, fueled by methane gas piped in automatically from a landfill in the next town.

Twitch, what university are you located at?

      • Twitch Says:

        University of New Hampshire.

I snuck out and pilfered some more food from the nearest dining hall last night. I found another girl, but I couldn’t convince her to come back with me. I think she was holing up in one of the science buildings. I though about dragging back by force, but that would’ve made a lot of noise.

McAllen, TX. Moved to my neighbour’s basement, exits in and out boarded up. I’m shaky and unfortunately haven’t any liquor to assuage the tension. I haven’t heard from any family, and I’ve food to last only about a week I’m guessing…

    Jim,

Hang in there. My wife & I are on Long island, NY and I don’t think we’ll be leaving here. New York City has pretty much ensured that. We’re okay for now, but I feel it is only a matter of time before we get overrun. Being on an island with no boat, our options are limited.

    Also surviving (for now),
    Eric & Kristin

Who knew all the crazy crap my old man spouted off about during the cold war would actually come in handy? He’d been stock piling food, gas, and weapons for more years than I’ve been alive…those freaks killed him in broad daylight, right in the middle of the Meijer’s parking lot. I don’t know if Mom made it. I panicked and drove home, to the bomb shelter. If anybody cares, Muncie, Indiana is going to have at least one survivor.

    Jonathon

    • hikingguy73 Says:

Muncie? You’re only 3 hours from me….of course, that would be going through Dayton. About 160 miles, you might as well be on the moon…

Fight on fight on dear old Muncie Fight on — Hoist the gold and blue You’ll be tattered, torn and hurtin’Once ‘The Munce’ is done with you!

      Stay safe Jonathon.

I feel really, really guilty right now. I left Mom. Dad was loading the trunk with more canned food (“Freakin’ Russians are just lulling us to sleep!”) and Mom was still shopping when a mass of them came across the parking lot. Nobody knew what they were…they just shambled up to Dad and…I jumped over the back seat and peeled out.

She’s gone, right? I mean…it’s just a Meijer. Where are people going to go?

Also, I have to ask the question (I think my dad’s conspiracy theory bull has affected me)…no radio transmissions to speak of…no TV transmissions to speak of…but we’re still on the freakin’ Internet.

        What is our government hiding?

(Or were IT specialists the first wave of zombies and we just didn’t notice?)

        hehe, sorry…black humor…sorry….

  5. PJ Says:

Jim – I pray that you’re still with us. It’s been a few days since you’ve posted and that worries me. Did J&J turn out to be double crossers? Did the neighbors swarm the house? Or are you just busy fortifying?

My son & I are barricaded in our triplex apartment here in Green, Ohio. One set of neighbors made it out with their children, but the other set…well, let’s just say that I’m glad my ex-husband is a cop and taught me how to use a gun.

I got one of the handguns in the divorce and it’s sure come in handy. Not to sound cold or anything, but I really don’t feel all that bad about having to take out the neighbors. Becoming zombies was actually a step UP the evolutionary ladder for them.

So far, our supplies are holding out, but I’d say we only have about a week. I don’t know what we’ll do after that. I don’t know where to go. None of my friends and family are answering their phones or emails. I’m scared.

Please post soon, Jim. We really need a ray of hope.

    Feeling Blue in Green,

    PJ

Thanks for your thoughts PJ. We’re doing okay it’s been a hectic couple of days, I’ll update everyone as soon as I can. I’ve added you to the map, you’ll be on the next update. Keep that boy safe.

Hey, i’m in Anchorage, Alaska and.. there’s been some freaky shit happening lately. In the main downtown area there are fires and all the power is out down there. Luckily I live on a mountain side. The police are no help, they just block off roads and tell us they need to contain the “rioting” but then I wonder.. Why would they be keeping kind, NON RIOTING pedestrians from leaving a area thats under attack… they are keeping the innocent from being safe! I have a bunch of food stockpiled, I had gotten it from the neighbors houses. They all left and I haven’t heard from them since.

Sorry for posting so late… i just thought someone might see this and keep from thinking north is safe… Good luck all.. I hope we make it out of this alive.

  7. Wolf Says:

Jim, I live (lived) in Miami, Florida. As soon as the infection hit the top of Florida I knew we were screwed. I retreted to the Keyes and we managed to destroy the brige connecting us to the mainland. Thats whan i realized something. The fuckers can’t swim! So any of you on an island with a bridge, BLOW IT UP!

  8. Jack Says:

Los Angeles, CA. Holding out in an apartment complex in the center of the city. I was at the Bradbury Building with my best friend Chuck when this all started. We heard a woman scream, we both looked around and saw one of ‘them’ biting her shoulder. Chuck pulled ‘it’ off of her then ‘it’ bit him. I turned around and saw a fireaxe and went wild swining at ‘it’ then i relazied what ‘it’ was and knew i had to but Chuck out of his misery…

Everyone panicked and ran outside to see a S.W.A.T. team point there guns and shoot at them blood sprying everywhere. They were soon overun by the unforunate poeple who had been bitten.

I was one of the few lucky ones to escape unharmed physically…

I hope we all live to see the day where this is all over.

  9. Johano Says:

Sweden, Göteborg area, you must excuse my english but i wouldent count on it as the most important thing right now.Im holding up in apartment bulding togheter with my dad my best friend and his mom.I live in a small town just outside the larger city göteborg

The attack on europe was held back almost one and a half week I think the first “infected” was in france about one and a half weeks after the time USA declared a whole country emergancy but thats only my guessings because when the coverstories fell and the truth spread there where already hundreds of them

Our government acted swift and closed of all flights in and out already in the early stages, docks and borders where sealed with military forces and the country was isolated…for about a month…then hell broke loose

my guessings are that the whole thing started in the north, probably some poor guy who got over the border from norway its to wide to keep it all sealed from refugees. then it spread trough the counrty in a matter of days…

We left our house as fast as we could and bunkerd us up here with food for a long time period, but we haven’t got any guns except some homemade bats (I’m cursing our weapon laws for the first time). The zombies diden’t notice us at first. We kept quiet and bunkered the windows, we tapped water before the drains stopped and short after that the electricity disappeared why i can write is because i found laptop with still some battery in it I found this by chance I’m glad there are others i hope you still live when i see you haven’t posted.

Sooner or later we had to go after supplies we made a run for the local shop and gathered some food but we got the zombies attention on our way back and now they are flocking around the building more and more attracted by their endless growning… can they walk stairs?

I hope you survive we havent heard from you in a couple of days /Johan

Long Beach, Me and a couple of my friends were hanging out at my house before the “riots”. They haven’t left.
we found some cotton which we mashed in our ears to help cope with the moaning. We’ve got enough food to last us a pretty long while. there is a lot of stuff in the streets, we hurried outside when the streets were clear and we now have ourselves a police baton and a pistol, 6 shots.

Love the body you have before its taken.

Northern Chicago burb on the Wisc. border….
Not much left south-ways except one of North America’s Largest cities now mostly “them”.
I hate to imagine what downtown looks like, Can’t go north because of Milwaukee, holding out in the second story of a bank, right next door to a grocery store (at least we have tons of canned goods if not a lot of drinking water) Pray for rain.

  12. Seth398 Says:

No do not drink any rain. It could have the infectious disease in it. You need to get to a store and load as many packs of water and food as you can. I’m in an apartment complex in someone’s apartment, but the bad thing is, I have no weapons, nor food and water. I’m planning to get out of here in a matter of days. The moaning has put stress on me and I’m literally losing it. My plan is to look through the peek holes, I’ve left in this boarded up apartment. Once, no “thing” is around, I’m going to climb in the attic and get on the roof. From there, I will examine the complex and make my next move, I’m going to slide across the power lines over to the other buildings. From there, I will jump onto this tree, and slide down. From there, I have on open sprint down the road about 100 yards, until I reach a store. I’m going to get some new batteries for my portable laptop charger, and stuff as much foodand water as I can in my backpack. I’ve been to the store before and luckily, they have a gun shop beside it. I’m going to load my backpack with pistol and shotgun shells. I will get me a shotgun, and two pistols for backup. Wish me luck, I’m leaving tomorrow.
